The University of Connecticut is primarily an educational and research institution. However, some offices, departments, and programs provide healthcare-related services that are subject to HIPAA requirements.
The Office of Healthcare Compliance & Privacy oversees HIPAA compliance and serves as the primary resource for HIPAA-related questions for UConn Storrs, the regional campuses, and UConn Health.
HIPAA Training
HIPAA Privacy and Security training modules are available for employees, students, and business associates of the University’s HIPAA-Covered Components. Employees complete HIPAA training in Saba (Learning @ Work). Students can complete HIPAA training in HuskyCT.
